What to expect in Sausalito
Your captain meets your group at the dock, takes you to the scattering spot, and gives you time for words, music, flowers or silence. Afterward, the captain records the coordinates of the scattering so your family always knows where it took place. Biodegradable urns and flowers can be ordered from our memorial store and delivered before your service.

Federal rule. Report to the EPA within 30 days.
This is the same as San Francisco. Bay and Golden Gate waters are allowed if 500+ yards from shore, from a boat, and not from the bridge or a pier. Richardson Bay is shallow, and much of it is within 500 yards of land, so most trips go to the central bay or the Golden Gate. Ocean waters just outside the Gate border the Greater Farallones and Monterey Bay sanctuaries. If Marin is the nearest county to the scattering point, file with Marin. If the spot is closer to San Francisco, file with SF.
