What to expect in Norwalk

Your captain meets your group at the dock, takes you to the scattering spot, and gives you time for words, music, flowers or silence. Afterward, the captain records the coordinates of the scattering so your family always knows where it took place. Biodegradable urns and flowers can be ordered from our memorial store and delivered before your service.

Federal rule. Report to the EPA within 30 days.
No state rule allowing or banning scattering in the Sound was found. The nearest ocean waters 3 nm offshore are about 100+ miles east, so all practical Norwalk trips stay in the Sound, outside EPA permit coverage. Check Norwalk Harbor Management Commission rules, and avoid Sheffield Island and the Norwalk Islands units of the Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge, where USFWS permits apply.
