What to expect in Cocoa Beach

Your captain meets your group at the dock, takes you to the scattering spot, and gives you time for words, music, flowers or silence. Afterward, the captain records the coordinates of the scattering so your family always knows where it took place. Biodegradable urns and flowers can be ordered from our memorial store and delivered before your service.

Banana River / Indian River Lagoon; Atlantic Ocean via Port Canaveral

3+ nautical miles from land
Federal rule. Report to the EPA within 30 days.
Run out Port Canaveral and go 3 nm off the beach - roughly 4-6 nm from the port (estimate). The Banana River and Indian River Lagoon are inside water (brackish lagoon; state says no ashes in fresh water - saltwater/brackish status unclear). Watch for Coast Guard safety zones and closures around Port Canaveral and rocket launches from Cape Canaveral/Kennedy Space Center. Whole-body burials off east-central Florida need 1,800 ft depth (not an issue for ashes).
