Premium Private Maritime Memorial Cruise & Sea Scattering Ceremony in Key West, FL

Boat: Axopar 37 XC, 38 ft, ultra-luxury class Up to 13 guests, private charter (only your group aboard)

A private burial at sea from Key West aboard a 38-foot Axopar, out to the Atlantic and the Straits of Florida.

The boat leaves from Peninsular Avenue, with free on-site parking, and the ceremony is held on the Atlantic side about 3 nautical miles from shore, near the reef line. Key West Harbor has Navy and cruise-ship security zones, which the captain avoids.

Nearly all the water around the Keys lies inside the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Scattering there needs a free NOAA sanctuary permit, must be at least 3 nautical miles from shore, and only ashes and natural flowers may go into the water: no urns, boxes or plaques. Your captain steers clear of the protected reef preservation areas. Ask your captain to confirm the permit when you book. Off Key West the captain avoids the Sand Key, Rock Key and Eastern Dry Rocks preservation areas and the Western Sambo reserve.

You lead the ceremony, or the captain can help guide it: share memories, read a passage or prayer, play a song, then release the ashes together. There is no rush.

Departure time is up to you and the weather. Many families choose late afternoon or near sunset, when the water is often calmer. If anything needs to change after booking, the captain will contact you.

Weather and family plans can change. If you or the captain need to change the date, we first find a new date that works for everyone. If no new date works, you can cancel: when you cancel, the charter is refunded minus the 11.5% booking fee and card processing; when the captain cancels, you receive a full refund.
